MAC

A Migration Authorisation Code (MAC) is required if you're moving your broadband service (not including VOIP services) from another service provider to Sure and if you've chosen to move your Sure broadband service to another provider.

If you are moving your broadband to an existing Sure home phone line and would like to provide us with your MAC, please follow ‘Submit a MAC’ instructions below. If you are leaving Sure, please follow the ‘Request a MAC’ instructions.’

Submit a MAC

If you are moving your broadband to an existing Sure home phone line, please provide your Account Holder Name (as per your last service provider bill), your home telephone number and your existing MAC code to serviceorders@sure.com.

We will continue processing your order as soon as you have provided us with your MAC. The MAC consists of 10 alpha-numeric characters, for example 'MN0925828B'. The first two letters of the MAC denotes the service provider that you are migrating away from, the second four letters denotes the expiry date of the MAC, the above example denotes 25th September. The next three numbers are randomly generated and the final letter denotes the type of service that you are transferring: 'B' for broadband.

Each service you intend on migrating will require their own MAC. Expired MACs will not be accepted by the service provider that you are migrating away from, if you have an expired MAC and still want to move your services to Sure, please request a new MAC from your current service provider.

Request a MAC

If you are leaving Sure and want to request a MAC, please provide your Account Holder Name (as per your last Sure bill) and your home telephone number to serviceorders@sure.com.

Once you have submitted your MAC request, we will post the MAC to your current billing address for the number you provided. This letter will be posted out within 2 working days.

You should then provide this MAC to your intended new service provider, they will then be able to process your request to move your broadband service for the telephone number provided.

Further information

A fixed line service is still required if you are moving your Broadband service to Sure. Please note that certain fixed line products (Such as MT’s Low User Choice tariff) may not be used in conjunction with a broadband service. In such cases we may be able to offer you our alternative calling plan, which we can contact you to discuss.

For further information regarding the MAC process, please visit www.iomcc.im or view the MAC code of practice here.
